Every bill split automatically
Splitwise style, and not forced into an equal share. Each housemate holds a percentage of a bill, the percentages total 100%, and each share is worked out from the real bill amount, so it updates when the bill does.
Resooma bundles a shared home's bills into one monthly payment, split equally. Taupia keeps every household bill with its own provider, split on your percentages, changing nothing without approval.
Free. Give your address for provider quotes in about two minutes, or upload a bill you already have. Then you pay each provider directly and Taupia splits and runs it, with nothing bundled.

01How Resooma works, and what Taupia does
Resooma sets up and bundles a shared home's energy, water, broadband, TV and, for non-students, council tax into one monthly bill, split equally between housemates, with each person charged directly for their share. Contracts start from three months, and energy can be paid for as used or taken as unlimited. Taupia sits between that and a comparison site, which prices one bill and hands the result back.
Taupia is free and compares energy, broadband and mobile, with two ways in: give it your address and provider quotes come back in about two minutes, or upload the bills you have and AI agents read the tariff, usage, contract end date and any exit fee. You see the full list, Taupia recommends one with its reasons, and nothing changes until you approve it.
Each bill then splits across the house on percentages totalling 100%, worked out from the real amount, and Taupia flags renewal dates before they arrive. Water, council tax and TV Licence stay in view, though Taupia does not compare or switch them, and it does not set up council tax.

02Supplier account setup
A package divides the house for you and quotes one figure for it. Going direct keeps Taupia out of the supplier contract, so the division stays with the household. Here is what Taupia does with that, and where it stops.
01
Splitwise style, and not forced into an equal share. Each housemate holds a percentage of a bill, the percentages total 100%, and each share is worked out from the real bill amount, so it updates when the bill does.
02
So nobody in the house has to be the one who asks. Taupia allocates account-setup tasks, tracks completion, records and flags outstanding shares, and sends reminders while a share is outstanding. Everyone sees the same shares and who has settled. It does not move money: the housemates repay the person the bill is in the name of directly, outside Taupia, and the share reads as settled once it has been repaid.
03
A utility account is usually opened in one person's name. That one named account holder is who the supplier bills, and the obligation to the supplier stays theirs whoever in the house has paid their share. Taupia can send a request to add further people to the account, but the supplier decides. If a share is late, Taupia flags it and sends reminders. It never moves money between housemates, and nothing it records changes what the named holder owes the supplier.
03Resooma vs Taupia: pricing, liability and exit terms
Start with the everyday question: what can you see before you choose, and who stays in control when a bill changes? Open any row for the provider's exact words.

| How the monthly amount is built | Resooma An estimated monthly payment, reconciled against real usage at the end.Their exact words For metered energy, Resooma's bills terms set the monthly payment in advance from an estimate of the gas and electricity the house will use, then reconcile it against actual usage at the end of the contract and settle the difference. Taupia flags rises it reads. In Taupia's words You pay each provider its own published rate on what the house actually uses. Taupia reads every bill you upload, compares energy, broadband and mobile against what you pay now, and flags the price rises it reads. More on this How Taupia works |
| If someone misses a payment | Resooma Whoever submits the Order answers for all of it until the others accept.Their exact words Clause 3.5 of its bills terms makes whoever submits the Order responsible for it in full, and lets Resooma bill that person for all of it until the other tenants accept its terms. Taupia tracks, but never collects. In Taupia's words Each housemate holds a percentage of the bill and the percentages total 100%. Supplier accounts default to one named account holder. Taupia can send a request to add further people, but the supplier decides whether to add them. Taupia records and flags outstanding shares, sends reminders and does not move money. | If the house moves or changes | Resooma Leaving early: £30 per service per tenant, with 30 days' notice.Their exact words Cancelling inside the minimum term but after the 14-day cancellation period costs £30 per service per tenant under clause 13.7. After that period, cancelling needs at least 30 days' written notice, and each customer on the contract has to request a cancellation in writing. | When a fixed term ends | Resooma Energy rolls to a standard variable rate, with no split and joint liability.Their exact words If the contract period expires and Resooma keeps supplying the energy, clause 20.4 forms a deemed contract at its standard variable tariff until new terms are agreed. Clause 20.4.2 says that contract does not include bill splitting, and holds every tenant using the energy jointly liable for all energy invoices. What one Reading house paid direct Reading Students' Union priced nine unlimited packages in March 2025 for one four-bedroom, four-occupant Reading house covering energy, water and broadband. Reading notes that guidance from Ofgem, the energy regulator, would treat a four-bedroom property as high usage, and on that band the house paid about £281 a month direct against the £408 the packages averaged: a premium of about £127 a month. Reading also ran a medium band, because students are away for long stretches, and there the direct figure is £223. Which one applies depends on how lived-in the house is. It is useful context for a Resooma quote, not a price for every household.

What else it publishes
Its bills terms add an administration fee to water. Clause 7.9 builds the water charge from the average local charge, the size of the property and a bill splitting administration fee averaging £2.20 per site per week, and clause 7.9.4 sets the water administration fee at £2.50 a week per house, both excluding VAT.

06Who Resooma suits, and who Taupia suits
You want one bill each, split equally, with energy, water, broadband, TV and, for non-students, council tax set up for you: Resooma says it does exactly that.
Your tenancy is short: Resooma says contracts start from three months and run for the length of your tenancy.
You would rather take unlimited energy and accept a usage policy around it: its bills terms set one out for unlimited contracts.
You want each bill to be the supplier's own rate on the house's real usage, with no administration fee inside the water charge.
You want to know who holds each account before anyone signs: with Taupia, each supplier account sits in a housemate's name with that provider.
The house wants to set its own split rather than an equal one: each member holds a percentage totalling 100%, and the house edits it when a room empties or fills.
07Taupia's own limitations
Taupia does not bundle your payment. It helps you set up directly with each provider, then splits and manages it all with the prices in view, which is why it costs you nothing. Here is what that route does not give you.
Taupia does not bundle your bills into one fixed monthly amount. You pay each provider its own published rate, so a heavy month costs more and a quiet one costs less. It only compares energy, broadband and mobile, and does not compare or switch water, insurance, credit, savings or mortgages.
A provider pays Taupia commission when a switch completes. On energy and gas the rate is the same whichever supplier you pick, so an energy recommendation does not pay Taupia more one way or the other. Broadband and mobile rates vary a little. The full list it recommends from is the suppliers Taupia supports, published on its supported suppliers page.
08Resooma questions answered
Resooma's bills terms, last updated 6 March 2024, name Future Residential Ltd, company number 09326175, trading as Resooma. Companies House shows that company in creditors' voluntary liquidation since 30 April 2026, and the footer of Resooma's bills page now reads Huddle Utilities Ltd. Ask Resooma which company your contract would be with, and for its current terms, before anyone signs.
Within 14 days of ordering you can cancel through its live chat, though you pay any costs it has already incurred. After that, cancelling needs at least 30 days' written notice from each customer on the contract, and inside the minimum term clause 13.7 adds £30 per service per tenant. Cancelling broadband less than 48 hours before installation can cost up to £60.
It comes with a usage policy. Resooma's bills terms set an unreasonable usage policy for unlimited contracts, based on Ofgem's typical consumption figures. Customers over it are warned and contacted about their payment plan, and any usage above it is charged when the tenancy ends. Signing up with the wrong number of bedrooms lets Resooma backdate extra charges.
