Every bill split automatically
Splitwise style, and not forced into an equal share. Each housemate holds a percentage of a bill, the percentages total 100%, and each share is worked out from the real bill amount, so it updates when the bill does.
Utility Warehouse sells energy, broadband, mobile and insurance on one bill, with discounts that grow as you add services. Taupia compares providers and changes nothing until you approve.

01How Utility Warehouse works, and what Taupia does
Utility Warehouse, or UW, is a supplier rather than a go-between: you take energy, broadband, mobile and insurance from UW itself and pay for them on one monthly bill. Its prices reward taking more. The more services you hold, the bigger the discount on its energy tariffs, and new customers taking three or more services can get up to £400 towards the exit fees their old providers charge.
Taupia works the other way round. It is free and compares energy, broadband and mobile from different providers, with two ways in: give it your address and provider quotes come back in about two minutes, or upload the bills you have and AI agents read the tariff, usage, contract end date and any exit fee. It recommends one deal with its reasons, and nothing changes until you approve it.
UW is in Taupia's energy comparison set, so its tariffs can appear in the full list, but Taupia cannot complete a switch to UW, and a provider pays Taupia commission only when a switch Taupia carries out completes. Each household bill then splits on percentages the house sets. Water, council tax and TV Licence stay in view, though Taupia does not compare or switch them.

02Supplier account setup
One bill from one company still arrives in one person's name. If you share the home, it still has to be divided, chased and settled every month. Here is what Taupia does with that, and where it stops.
01
Splitwise style, and not forced into an equal share. Each housemate holds a percentage of a bill, the percentages total 100%, and each share is worked out from the real bill amount, so it updates when the bill does.
02
So nobody in the house has to be the one who asks. Each housemate repays the person the bill is in the name of directly, outside Taupia, and the share reads as settled once it has been repaid. Taupia sends reminders while a share is outstanding, and everyone sees the same shares and who has settled.
03
A utility account is usually opened in one person's name. That one named account holder is who the supplier bills, and the obligation to the supplier stays theirs whoever in the house has paid their share. Taupia can send a request to add further people to the account, but the supplier decides. If a share is late, Taupia flags it and sends reminders. It never moves money between housemates, and nothing it records changes what the named holder owes the supplier.
03Utility Warehouse vs Taupia: pricing, liability and exit terms

Exit fees on fixed energy
Its fixed tariffs page lists exit fees of £75 per fuel, on fixed contracts of up to 12 months. Around a month before a fixed tariff ends, UW says it writes to tell you that you will roll onto its standard variable tariff.

UW Price Pledge
Eligible new customers who take three or more qualifying services and regularly use its Cashback Card can claim the Price Pledge between 12 and 15 months after signing up if they did not save in their first year against their previous provider, and leave those services without exit fees. A claim assumes a Cashback Card saving of £160 a year, or your actual saving if higher.

06Who Utility Warehouse suits, and who Taupia suits
You want energy, broadband, mobile and insurance from one company on one bill, and are happy for every price on it to be that company's own.
You will take three or more services: that is where UW's terms put its biggest energy discounts, the Price Pledge and help with your old providers' exit fees.
You would rather switch with a person beside you: UW says a local Partner can help you switch.
You want each bill priced against other providers: Taupia compares energy from 19 suppliers covering around 90% of the GB market, plus broadband and mobile, and recommends one with its reasons.
You do not want your energy discount tied to also taking broadband, mobile or insurance from the same company.
You share the home and want each bill split from its real amount, with Taupia sending the reminders rather than one housemate chasing.
07Taupia's own limitations
Taupia does not bundle your payment. It helps you set up directly with each provider, then splits and manages it all with the prices in view, which is why it costs you nothing. Here is what that route does not give you.
Taupia only compares energy, broadband and mobile. It does not compare or switch water, insurance, credit, savings or mortgages.
A provider pays Taupia commission when a switch completes. On energy and gas the rate is the same whichever supplier you pick, so an energy recommendation does not pay Taupia more one way or the other. Broadband and mobile rates vary a little. The full list it recommends from is the suppliers Taupia supports, published on its supported suppliers page.
08Utility Warehouse questions answered
It depends on how many services you would move. UW's discounts grow with each service you take, and its terms keep the biggest energy discounts, the Price Pledge and help with old exit fees for three or more services. If you only want energy, or want each bill priced against other providers, compare its tariff with others for your own usage before committing.
UW says Partners pay a one-off £10 to register and £3 a month for training and tools, then earn up to £300 for a homeowner customer taking at least four core services, plus a percentage of each referred customer's monthly bill for as long as they stay. Partners who support other Partners can also earn on the customers those Partners refer.
On energy, UW's fixed tariffs list exit fees of £75 per fuel, its tracker tariffs charge a per-fuel fee except in the first 14 or last 49 days, and its variable tariffs have no exit fee. New broadband customers take a minimum term of two years. Cancelling one service can also end bundle benefits that depended on it.
No. Utility Warehouse is in Taupia's energy comparison set, so its tariffs can appear in the full list Taupia shows you, but Taupia cannot complete a switch to UW and only recommends switches it can complete. A provider pays Taupia commission only when a switch Taupia carries out completes, as its page on why it is free explains.
