Refer Friend Terms & Conditions

1. Overview
These Refer-a-Friend Promotion Terms (the "Terms") are in addition to our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not participate in the Refer-a-Friend Promotion.
2. Who these terms apply to
- An existing Taupia user who has access to a unique Taupia referral code or referral link ("Referrer")
- A potential new Taupia user who has been given a referral code or link by a Referrer ("Invitee")
- Moley AI Limited trading as Taupia ("Taupia", "we", or "us")
- Moley AI Limited may operate under different trading names from time to time.
3. Availability
The promotion is currently ongoing and visible on the Referrer's "Refer a Friend" page within the Taupia platform. There is no fixed end date for this promotion, but we may amend, suspend, or withdraw the promotion at any time. Any changes will be reflected on the Refer a Friend page.
4. Successful referral
To qualify as a successful referral, all of the following conditions must be met:
Referrer requirements:
- The Referrer must share their Taupia referral code or link with the Invitee.
- The Referrer must not have exceeded the lifetime limit of 10 successful referrals.
The Invitee must:
- Create a Taupia account with a unique email address that has not previously been used with Taupia using the referral code during signup (referral codes cannot be added after signup).
- Complete an energy switch through Taupia within 30 days of using the referral code and before the Referrer hits 10 successful referrals.
- Successfully complete the 14-day cooling-off period required by the energy supplier.
A referral does not qualify if:
- The Invitee fails to complete the switch.
- The supplier cancels the switch.
- The switch is reversed during the cooling-off period.
- The Invitee's MPAN/MPRN and email combination has been used previously.
5. Referral rewards
Once all successful referral conditions are met:
- Both the Referrer and the Invitee will each receive £10, paid as £10 credited into their Taupia Reward Balance.
- Rewards are credited to the Reward Balance once the completion of the switch is confirmed by the energy supplier.
- Reward Balances can be withdrawn as cash via Direct Debit and will be paid within 30 days of withdrawal.
- Taupia has the right to replace the existing reward with something else at any time.
Reward limits:
- Referrers can earn up to £100 (10 successful referrals).
- Invitees can earn £10 only, once.
If either party closes their Taupia account before crediting, they forfeit the reward.
6. Where you are a Referrer
If a referral is not successfully completed, neither you nor the Invitee will receive any reward.
If multiple links or codes are used, the last code entered will count.
Prohibited behaviour includes:
- Paid promotion.
- Creating fake accounts.
- Fraudulent or abusive activity.
We may withhold, cancel, or refuse to issue any reward if we believe a referral has been made in breach of these Terms or involves fraudulent, abusive, or suspicious activity.
We may suspend referral privileges or remove Reward Balance if misuse is detected.
Closing your Taupia account invalidates your referral link and unused Reward Balance.
We may share your successful referral count with Invitees.
7. Where you are an Invitee
You must:
- Be a UK resident aged 18 or over.
- Have never previously held a Taupia account.
- Not be employed by Taupia.
If you fail to complete a successful referral, no rewards will be paid to you or the Referrer.
If multiple codes were entered, the last one used will determine the Referrer.
If the Referrer has already reached their 10-referral limit, the Invitee will not receive the £10.
We may share basic participation information with your Referrer.
8. Making changes to this promotion
We may change, suspend, or end this promotion at any time. Notice will be provided where reasonably possible.
Any changes will not affect rewards already earned under the previous terms.
9. Additional Information
We cannot guarantee that every applicant will successfully complete an energy switch.
We are not responsible for delays or cancellations by suppliers or third parties.
The timing, approval, and successful completion of any energy switch are determined solely by the energy supplier. We do not control supplier processes, validation steps, cooling off procedures, or any operational delays that may affect when or whether a switch is completed.
If energy suppliers suspend switching, restrict new applications, or otherwise prevent completion of a switch, we are not responsible and no reward will be payable.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the English courts will deal with any legal proceedings arising in connection with these terms or your account.
Voucher issuers may apply their own terms; Taupia is not liable for third-party voucher issues.
