Starts the switch for the day you take responsibility
Most people switch after they move in and pay the default rate for a month first. Start it here and, with the suppliers that allow it, the new rate begins on the day the place becomes yours.
Keeps the opening reading attached to the date
Photograph the meters on day one and the app stores the reading with the date on it. That reading is what settles any argument about which household owes what.
If the switch is declined, tells you exactly what to say
Usually it is a previous tenant's debt. You get the wording, the evidence to send and the reading to give. The supplier will only deal with the person named on the account, so that call is yours to make, never ours.
